Adam - Overseas investment co-buyer
I co-bought a holiday home in the ski-resort of Bankso, Bulgaria with six other people. I had already bought my first flat in England with my girlfriend and wanted to invest in more property but I wasn’t in the position where I was able to do so alone and especially not in the UK.
Co-buying made the venture financially viable for me but also opened up new opportunities as I met people who had better knowledge, confidence and expertise in the overseas property market. This enabled me to enter an area I would otherwise not have had the conviction to go into.
To be honest, I was more than happy to co-buy a property in Bulgaria because it’s still quite an unstable market and by co-buying I was able to invest less money and therefore ultimately engage in less risk.
The co-buying process was surprisingly easy to complete, in fact the hardest part was finding other co-buyers to join our group – which is why Co-BuyWithMe.com is such a fantastic site!
The great thing about co-buying a property is that it allows people to invest in property where they would probably not be able to do so in normal circumstances – and as an added bonus for me, I now get to go on very cheap snowboarding holidays!
I would definitely co-buy again but my advice would be to ensure that the people you find to co-buy with are 100% committed to the project and have the appropriate funds in place…you don’t want a co-buyer to pull out at the last minute! - although with Co-BuyWithMe.com at least the search for another buyer has been made easy.
